It has been a wild ride these past few months, and I hate to say it, but I have fallen behind on my website. Fortunately, these next few days I will be working hard to get everything in tip-top shape, because there are many new things to share!

Let's start off with a recap of the month of April:

In April, I opened my first ever solo exhibition at Trident Cafe and Booksellers, Titled "please steal." I displayed 16 of my original paintings, and sold the painting "Cucumber!" This was a rather surreal experience, because while I moonlight as a fine artist, my day job is washing dishes and making coffee for Trident. So from April 1st to April 27th, I was slaying the dish pit while hustling my art on the walls of the space where I work. It was such a fun month, and I stayed super busy painting with many new works coming out of my studio in the near future.

April was busy professionally, and it was a busy time personally. I moved back to the Denver area, which is why I have fallen behind on updating my social media and website. The move is now complete, and I am settling in nicely, however there are paintings everywhere.

I want to take a minute to thank everyone who made it Trident to see my work. Your support is why I put my work out there, and I am thankful for every set of eyes that have taken the time to glance at my paintings. I paint to capture the way that humanity interacts with time. The month of April 2021 was a wonderful adventure filled with growth and change, and this time will mark a clear and distinct phase of my pursuit of artistic ideals. With some of the money from the sale of "Cucumber!" I invested into oil paint, and have begun working on my first series of oil paintings. One of these is titled "Oh How Things Have Changed," and captures the transition of mediums and techniques, as well as the state of accelerated rate of change that my artwork has undergone in the past months.

While April was a busy month, the start of May has been even busier.

I have established a studio in The Walnut Gallery in Longmont! (https://www.thewalnutgallery.com/)

This wonderful gallery at the heart of Longmont's creative district features the diverse work of more than 50 artists. I have been captivated with the wonderful sculptures featured throughout the gallery, and feel so lucky to be on the walls of a beautiful and diverse gallery, at the heart of my favorite city. Please feel free to stop by and see my work and visit me in my studio!

These past two months have been a complete whirlwind, and I feel so fortunate and privileged pursue my art in this way. When I started painting, I had no idea that a residency would be in my future. I have doubtlessly been the benefactor of an immense amount of privilege these past few months, and therefore I have been redistributing the wealth to an organization that aims to provide relief for our unhoused neighbors in Boulder County by providing access to resources no questions asked. The violent policing of the unhoused in our community is at a crisis point, and Boulder SAFE is fighting for the fundamental human right of survival. Please support this cause if you can, because every human deserves safe access to food, water, and shelter.

Thank you so much for taking a look at my blog, and stay tuned for many new things happening soon!
